About

Ainsworth State Park sits within the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, surrounded by towering basalt cliffs and lush forest. The campground serves as a base for exploring the western Gorge's waterfall corridor, with trailheads for Horsetail Falls and the Gorge 400 Trail located at day-use areas just west of the campground entrance. The Historic Columbia River Highway weaves through the park, offering scenic driving and cycling opportunities. The campground has 40 full-hookup sites split between two loops. Loop A features all pull-through sites ranging from 50 to 83 feet, while Loop B has a mix of pull-through and back-in sites from 36 to 55 feet. All RV sites include 50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections. Six walk-in tent sites with nearby parking and a hiker/biker camp area round out the overnight options. Two restroom buildings with showers serve the campground, and a dump station is available for a $10 fee. The park operates seasonally from mid-March through October 31. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance through Oregon State Parks. Firewood must be purchased locally or certified heat-treated due to emerald ash borer quarantine restrictions in Multnomah County.
