About

Dabney State Recreation Area is a popular day-use destination located along the Sandy River in Multnomah County, just outside Troutdale, Oregon. The park sits at the junction of the Sandy River and the Historic Columbia River Highway, providing easy access for Portland-area visitors seeking river recreation without a long drive. The park features an 18-hole disc golf course, volleyball court, horseshoe pits, and seasonal beach access for swimming, tubing, and fishing. Life jacket loaner stations are available, and life jackets are mandatory for water activities. Picnic tables and grills are scattered throughout the park, and a large covered picnic shelter that accommodates up to 50 people can be reserved for group gatherings. This is strictly a day-use facility with no overnight camping permitted. Park hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. from June through August, and 7 a.m. to dusk from September through May. A $5 day-use parking fee applies per vehicle, or visitors can use a valid Oregon State Parks pass.
