Dabney State Recreation Area
This is a day-use only recreation area with no overnight camping. Park is open with hours from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. (June through August) or 7 a.m. to dusk (September through May). Advisory through June 10, 2026: limited beach access due to high water levels.

However, there is a 10-20% chance that low temperatures remain above 70 degrees, which would lead to limited overnight relief.
About
Dabney State Recreation Area is a popular day-use destination located along the Sandy River in Multnomah County, just outside Troutdale, Oregon. The park sits at the junction of the Sandy River and the Historic Columbia River Highway, providing easy access for Portland-area visitors seeking river recreation without a long drive. The park features an 18-hole disc golf course, volleyball court, horseshoe pits, and seasonal beach access for swimming, tubing, and fishing. Life jacket loaner stations are available, and life jackets are mandatory for water activities. Picnic tables and grills are scattered throughout the park, and a large covered picnic shelter that accommodates up to 50 people can be reserved for group gatherings. This is strictly a day-use facility with no overnight camping permitted. Park hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. from June through August, and 7 a.m. to dusk from September through May. A $5 day-use parking fee applies per vehicle, or visitors can use a valid Oregon State Parks pass.
Directions
From Portland, take I-84 East to Exit 18 (Lewis and Clark State Recreation Site). Turn right and follow the Historic Columbia River Highway east approximately 4 miles to the park entrance on the right.
