About

Sunset Falls Campground is located on the western edge of Gifford Pinchot National Forest along the East Fork Lewis River at an elevation of 1,000 feet. The campground offers scenic views of the river and a beautiful waterfall accessible via the paved Sunset Falls Trail #174. Large evergreen trees shade both the campground road and trail. The campground has 18 sites divided into two loops: the West Loop contains 10 standard nonelectric sites that can accommodate RVs up to 22 feet, while the East Loop has 8 tent-only sites. Each site includes a picnic table and campfire ring with grill. Three vault toilets and trash receptacles serve the campground, but no potable water is available. Several hiking trails are nearby, including the Silver Star Trail with views of Portland, Oregon. The East Fork Lewis River draws kayakers to the area. The campground is situated between Mount St. Helens and Mount Adams, about an hour north of Portland.
