About
East Bank Beach Shelters is a day-use recreation area managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the William "Bill" Dannelly Reservoir section of the Alabama River in Millers Ferry, Alabama. The facility offers two group picnic shelters available for reservation: a Large Shelter and a Small Shelter, both equipped with electric hookups and water service. The beach area features a designated swimming zone with a sandy shoreline surrounded by picnic tables and expansive grassy lawns. This makes it suitable for family gatherings, reunions, and group events during the warm months. The shelters provide shaded areas with views of the reservoir. This is strictly a day-use facility with no overnight camping. Check-in is at 7:00 AM and all visitors must vacate by 7:00 PM. Reservations are handled through Recreation.gov with no refunds or rain checks, though weather cancellations may be rescheduled within 6 months. Excessive noise, water slides, and water balloons are prohibited.
