Moraine Park Campground sits at 8,160 feet elevation in Rocky Mountain National Park, offering 244 campsites spread across multiple loops. The campground reopened in July 2025 after a two-year closure for extensive utility rehabilitation. Sites accommodate tents, RVs, and trailers up to 40 feet in combined length, with 49 sites featuring electric hookups that support 20, 30, and 50 amps. Water and sewer hookups are not available, but a dump station is located near the entrance. The campground features paved roads with either dirt or concrete parking pads at each site. All sites include a picnic table, fire ring with grate, and bear-proof food storage locker. Tent sites have designated tent pads. Modern amenities include seasonal flush toilets, drinking water, and two solar shower facilities where campers must provide their own shower bags. An outdoor amphitheater near Loop C hosts free ranger programs throughout the season. Surrounded by a pleasant mix of Douglas fir, lodgepole pine, ponderosa pine, and occasional Engelmann spruce, the campground offers partial shade and open meadows filled with grasses and seasonal wildflowers. Wildlife viewing opportunities abound, with mule deer and elk commonly seen. The campground provides direct access to the park's free shuttle system, connecting campers to trailheads along the Bear Lake Road corridor and the park's extensive trail network of over 350 miles.

Directions

From Estes Park, take Highway 36 west. Turn left onto Bear Lake Road near the Beaver Meadows Entrance Station and follow signs to the campground. Turn onto Moraine Park Road and continue approximately 1 mile to the campground entrance.
