About
Meeker Park Overflow Campground is a rustic, no-frills camping destination within Roosevelt National Forest, offering 29 first-come, first-served sites for those seeking proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park. Situated along Colorado Highway 7 at 8,600 feet elevation, the campground features unpaved roads, steep hills, and short pull-ins that make it best suited for tent camping, though RVs, trailers, and campers are permitted if they fit on the parking spur. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring, with bear lockers provided at sites with tent pads. Despite its reduced amenities, the campground tends to fill to capacity on summer weekends due to its excellent location approximately two miles north of Longs Peak Trailhead and two miles south of Wild Basin Trailhead. The facility provides portable toilets but no drinking water, electricity, hookups, dump stations, or showers. A 14-day stay limit applies, with a maximum of eight people per site. The campground sits about 13 miles south of Estes Park and 10 miles north of the Highway 7 and Highway 72 junction.
