About

Long Draw Campground is a remote, high-elevation destination situated near Long Draw Reservoir in the Canyon Lakes Ranger District of Roosevelt National Forest. The campground offers 25 sites including three double sites, all operated on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations available. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and fire grate, with parking spurs ranging from 25 to 55 feet in length. Potable drinking water is available from a hand pump, and vault toilets serve the campground. The area sees heavy use during the short summer season, with reservoir and stream fishing being primary draws along with hiking opportunities. Access is via Long Draw Road (Forest Road 156), a seasonal route that opens in July. The campground sits in an area that was near the Cameron Peak Fire, though the facility itself has no reported damage. Due to the high elevation and remote location, visitors should come prepared for variable mountain weather and bring all necessary supplies.
