About

Glacier Basin Campground is a popular established campground located on the east side of Rocky Mountain National Park at 8,500 feet elevation. Situated along Bear Lake Road near the Beaver Meadows Entrance, it provides convenient access to some of the park's most iconic destinations including Bear Lake, Sprague Lake, and numerous alpine trailheads via the park's free shuttle system that stops within the campground. The campground offers 150 sites across four loops (A, B, C, D) plus a group camping area. Each site features a picnic table, fire ring with grate, and tent pad. Amenities include flush toilets, potable water, a dump station, food storage lockers for bear-safe storage, an amphitheater for ranger programs, and trash/recycling collection. No hookups, showers, or laundry facilities are available. RVs and trailers up to 35 feet are permitted in most loops, though the group loop prohibits vehicles over 21 feet and does not allow RVs or trailers. Note that due to a pine beetle epidemic, all trees in C Loop, D Loop, and the Group Loop have been removed, resulting in minimal shade in these areas. Generators are restricted to 7:30-10 a.m. and 4-8:30 p.m. in most areas, with no generators allowed in sites C76-104 and the Group Loop. A timed entry reservation for Bear Lake Road is included with camping reservations.
