About

Grandview Campground sits at 10,220 feet elevation on the western shore of Long Draw Reservoir in the Canyon Lakes Ranger District of Roosevelt National Forest. This small, tents-only facility features nine walk-in campsites accessible via short paths from a shared parking area. Vegetation ranges from open grassland to conifer stands, and each site includes a tent pad, picnic table, and fire grate. Fishing in Long Draw Reservoir is the most popular activity, drawing anglers seeking high-altitude trout. The campground also serves as a launching point for hiking in the adjacent Neota Wilderness and Rocky Mountain National Park, though overnight camping is prohibited on the opposite and adjoining shorelines within the park boundary. The campground operates first-come, first-served with no advance reservations. Access requires a 12-mile drive south on Long Draw Road (Forest Road 156) from Highway 14, a route that remains closed through winter and spring snowmelt. Maximum occupancy is eight people per site, and tents must fit on the provided pads. Leashed dogs are permitted.
