Rocky Creek Park

Rocky Creek Park occupies a wooded stretch along Rocky Creek on the eastern shore of Benbrook Lake, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The primitive campground features 11 standard nonelectric sites nestled under mature trees, each with a covered picnic table and parking. Water hydrants are distributed throughout the park, and vault toilets serve the area. A boat ramp provides lake access for fishing and boating. The park serves as a trailhead for over 14 miles of equestrian and hiking trails that wind through the surrounding terrain. The main picnic area sits on an open peninsula below wooded hillsides, offering shoreline access for swimming and fishing. Fort Worth's Cultural District, Stockyards, Botanical Gardens, and Zoo are all a short drive away. Important: The campground sits in a low-lying creek area subject to water level fluctuations. During high water periods, portions of the campground will flood; during drought, boating access to the main lake body may be limited or impossible.

Directions

From the intersection of Granbury Road/Summer Creek Drive and Sycamore School Road/Columbus Trail, go west and southwest 1.5 miles to the intersection of Granbury Road, McPherson Road, and St. Francis Village Road. Proceed on Rocky Creek Park Road 1 mile to the park entrance. Alternatively, from the Chisholm Trail Parkway, exit for McPherson Road and go west to Rocky Creek Park Road.
