Open — Open year-round. Park gates open 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily. Reservations are highly recommended and can be made up to 5 months in advance through the Texas State Parks system.

About

Cleburne State Park provides a scenic escape on the northern edge of the Texas Hill Country, encompassing 529 acres around the spring-fed, 116-acre Cedar Lake. Located just 30 minutes southwest of Fort Worth, this park offers convenient access to nature without sacrificing amenities. The park features 58 developed campsites across multiple camping areas including Poplar Point, North Creek, Cedar Grove, Keyhole, and Shady Springs. All sites include water and electricity (20/30 or 50 amp options), with 27 sites offering full hookups including sewer. Each campsite comes equipped with a picnic table, fire ring with grill, and lantern post. Modern restroom facilities with showers are conveniently located throughout the camping areas. The park also offers screened shelters and a group camp for youth groups. Recreation opportunities abound both on land and water. Cedar Lake invites visitors to swim from the beach, fish from the ADA-accessible covered fishing pier (with free loaner gear available), or launch boats from the park's boat ramp for no-wake boating. Kayak and paddleboard rentals are available via a self-service kiosk. On land, nearly 13 miles of trails wind through the forest, including 6 miles of technical mountain biking trails and scenic routes like the Spillway Trail leading to a hand-carved three-tiered spillway. The park store sells ice, firewood, charcoal, and snacks. Historic CCC-built structures including the dam, stone portals, and outdoor fireplaces add character throughout the park.

Directions

From Cleburne, take Highway 67 south, then turn left onto Park Road 21. The park entrance is approximately six miles ahead on the right.
