Cleburne State Park

Open

Open year-round. Park gates open 7am to 10pm daily. Reservations via texasstateparks.reserveamerica.com are strongly recommended as the park frequently reaches capacity during peak season. A nearby lime plant may produce occasional noise and dust.

About

Cleburne State Park sits on 528 acres surrounding 116-acre Cedar Lake in Johnson County, about 30 minutes southwest of Fort Worth. The park offers 58 developed campsites spread across several camping areas: Poplar Point (full hookups with 20/30/50 amp), North Creek (full hookups with 20/30 amp), Shady Springs (water/electric with 20/30/50 amp), and Cedar Grove/Keyhole (water/electric with 20/30 amp). Every campsite includes a picnic table, fire ring with grill, lantern post, and access to nearby restrooms with hot showers. Cedar Lake provides the centerpiece for recreation. Swimming is allowed in a designated area, and an ADA-accessible fishing pier extends over the water. Anglers can borrow gear at no charge and fish without a license within the park. Boating is permitted at no-wake speeds only; jet skis and water skiing are prohibited. The park store stocks firewood, charcoal, ice, and basic supplies. Nearly 13 miles of trails wind through the oak-juniper woodlands, open to both hikers and mountain bikers. The park also offers screened shelters, cabins, and group camping facilities including a dining hall and barracks. Reservations are strongly recommended, especially during spring and summer when the park frequently reaches capacity.
