About
Mustang Park sits on the west side of Mustang Creek on Benbrook Lake's southern shore, featuring wooded creek bottoms and gently sloping shorelines. Unlike traditional campgrounds with designated sites, Mustang allows day-users and tent campers to set up anywhere in the park, including right on the shoreline. The adjacent swimming beach operates April through September, and fishing is permitted along the shoreline of Mustang Point. The park includes a reservable group shelter that accommodates up to 80 people with parking for 30 vehicles. For overnight camping groups, six individual water and electrical pedestal hookups are available at no additional charge beyond the $125/day shelter rental. The shelter provides drinking water, a large cooking grill, lights, and 110V outlets (until 10pm). Two restrooms are on site, one with showers, plus a trailer dump station. Fort Worth's Cultural District, Stockyards, Botanical Gardens, Zoo, and downtown Sundance Square are all a short drive away. The Fort Worth Thunderbirds Radio-controlled Model Airplane Club operates a public flying field at the park.
Directions
From FM 1187 Crowley Plover Road, turn north on Winscott Plover Road for about one mile to the park entrance.
