About

Bear Creek Campground is located on the south side of Benbrook Lake in north central Texas, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The campground features 46 individual campsites with electric hookups and one group camping pavilion with electricity. Situated along the east side of Bear Creek, the campground enjoys a scenic setting with wooded hillsides and prairie above the lake. Facilities include restrooms with showers, a trailer dump station, and a boat launch. All sites have electric hookups, and the campground offers access to excellent fishing and boating on Benbrook Lake. Wildlife viewing opportunities abound with frequent sightings of deer, hawks, owls, roadrunners, and woodpeckers around the lake and campground. The campground operates seasonally from April through September with reservations available through Recreation.gov. Gates close from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. nightly. Bear Creek Campground is conveniently located just a short drive from Fort Worth's Cultural District, Stockyards National Historic District, Botanical Gardens, Zoo, and downtown Sundance Square. Cash and checks are no longer accepted; all payments must be made by credit or debit card.

Directions

From Interstate 20 or 820 in southwest Fort Worth, take exit 429A for Highway 377 toward Granbury and go south 5.7 miles. Turn left onto FM Road 1187 and continue for 1.4 miles, then turn left onto Ben Day-Murrin Road and continue another 1.6 miles to the campground entrance.
