About
North Holiday Park is the largest day use area on Benbrook Lake, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Located on the west side of the lake in north central Texas, the park offers a variety of recreational opportunities including a designated swimming beach, boat ramps, picnicking facilities, and access to hiking and equestrian trails. The park features wooded creek bottoms transitioning to upland prairie with shallow shorelines and rocky slopes. Several miles of gently sloping shoreline make it popular for swimming and wading, while prevailing southwesterly winds attract windsurfers. Fishing opportunities include largemouth bass, carp, crappie, sunfish, channel catfish, and flathead catfish. The lake record for largemouth bass exceeds thirteen pounds. Three boat ramps provide access to the main body and west shoreline of the lake. The park has vault toilets and drinking water hydrants at multiple locations. One group shelter with electric hookups is available for reservation through Recreation.gov, though overnight camping is not permitted. Glass containers, pets, fires, and fishing are prohibited on the designated swimming beach.
