About

Bear Creek Campground occupies the south shore of Benbrook Lake within Mustang Park, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Located roughly 10 miles southwest of downtown Fort Worth, the campground combines convenient access to the Dallas-Fort Worth metro with a natural lakeside setting featuring wooded hillsides and prairie landscapes. The campground contains 46 individual campsites, all equipped with 20/30 amp electric and water hookups. Six sites offer upgraded 50 amp electric service, with two of those also including sewer hookups. A large group camping pavilion accommodates larger gatherings. Facilities include restrooms with showers, a trailer dump station, and a boat launch ramp for direct lake access. Popular activities include boating, kayaking, and fishing on Benbrook Lake. The area supports diverse wildlife including deer, hawks, owls, roadrunners, and woodpeckers. The campground operates seasonally from April through September, with reservations available through Recreation.gov.
