About
Rocky Arbor State Park Campground provides a serene camping experience just 1.5 miles from the bustling attractions of Wisconsin Dells. Established in 1932 to protect ancient sandstone formations, this 224-acre park features 89 wooded campsites tucked beneath towering pines and surrounded by dramatic sandstone bluffs that are over 500 million years old. The family-friendly campground operates seasonally from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. The campground accommodates both tent campers and RVs up to 70 feet in length, with several sites offering electrical hookups. Modern amenities include flush toilets and showers, making it a comfortable base for exploring the area. Campers can enjoy the park's 1-mile self-guided nature trail that winds through the forested gorge, offering opportunities to spot deer, raccoons, squirrels, and other wildlife. Each campsite is situated in the shade of the mixed pine forest, providing a cool and quiet atmosphere. While the park itself is open year-round for day use from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., camping is only available during the summer season. The location offers an ideal balance between natural seclusion and proximity to Wisconsin Dells attractions, making it a popular choice for families seeking an affordable and tranquil alternative to commercial campgrounds. Reservations are available through the Wisconsin State Park System.
