About
Ice Age Campground is one of three campgrounds at Devil's Lake State Park, named for its location within the Ice Age National Scientific Reserve. The campground lies about one mile north of the lake along County Road DL. With 225 non-electric sites split between two distinct sections, it caters primarily to tent campers and pop-up campers, though RVs are permitted. Lower Ice Age (sites 301-390) offers a mix of partially wooded and open grassy sites, along with a concession-operated camp store. Upper Ice Age (sites 401-535) is entirely wooded, providing more shade and privacy. All sites include fire rings and picnic tables. The campground has two flush restroom and shower buildings plus seven vault toilet facilities scattered throughout. Devil's Lake itself offers exceptional recreational opportunities including swimming beaches, cliff-lined hiking trails along the Baraboo Range quartzite bluffs, paddling, and fishing. The Ice Age National Scenic Trail passes through the park, making this campground a natural basecamp for hikers exploring the glacial landscape.
Directions
From Baraboo, take WI-123 south approximately 3 miles to the park entrance. Continue through the park and cross County Road DL. The Ice Age Campground entrance is on the north side of County Road DL.
