Devil's Lake Group Campground

Located on the south shore of Devil's Lake State Park, the Group Campground offers nine sites that collectively accommodate up to 460 campers, making it ideal for family reunions, scout trips, and large gatherings. The campground sits approximately 0.5 miles east of the south shore entrance and provides convenient access to the lake via the Group Camp Trail, a 15-minute walk to the South Shore beach and day-use area. Three of the nine sites are rustic and accommodate 40 campers each, remaining naturally wooded without extensive clearing. All group sites include the standard amenities found throughout Devil's Lake: picnic tables, gravel or paved parking areas, and metal fire rings. The campground features modern shower and restroom facilities with running water during the regular camping season. The group campground operates seasonally, typically closing in mid-October and reopening around mid-April. During the closed season, running water is shut off and facilities are locked to prevent freeze damage. All group sites require reservations, which can be made up to 11 months in advance or as late as the same day of arrival. Natural deadwood may be gathered from the forest floor for campfires, and firewood is available for purchase. The park's carry-in, carry-out trash policy applies to all campgrounds.
