Light to periodically moderate rain is expected for the lower Stehekin Valley this week along with melting snow as temperatures warm into the 40s and 50s. Flows in rivers will increase quickly and reach critical levels. * WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues for the lower Stehekin Valley. * WHERE...A portion of North Central Washington, including the following county, Chelan. * WHEN...Until 1100 PM PDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...When the Stehekin River gauge hits 19.3 feet, water breaches the river bank. At 20 feet, water inundates some properties and overtops the temporary corduroy bridge. Company Creek Road begins to flood in places at the northern end and Battalion Creek culverts are beginning to be overtopped. At 20.5 feet, water begins to damage Wood Road. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 924 PM PDT, the Stehekin River is at 19.9 feet. River levels will continue to rise through the week with an expected crest of 22.9 feet on Saturday. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Rock Creek Campground sits along Rock Creek near where it meets the Chiwawa River, approximately 20 miles up Chiwawa River Road from Lake Wenatchee. The campground features 8 campsites located in a valley floor setting, surrounded by the scenic landscapes of Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. The campground serves as a trailhead for the Rock Creek Trail and Estes Butte Trail, making it popular with hikers exploring the backcountry. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis only with no advance reservations available. Visitors can pay for campsites on-site using cash, check, or by scanning a QR code with the Recreation.gov mobile app where cellular service permits. Basic amenities include vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire pits at each site. No potable water is available, so campers must bring their own drinking water. The campground can accommodate trailers up to 30 feet. Sites cost $20 per night with an additional vehicle fee of $7-10 per night. Interagency Senior and Access passes receive a 50% discount on the single campsite fee.
Directions
From Leavenworth, head southwest on US-2 West for 15 miles. Turn right onto WA-207 North and continue 4.4 miles. Turn right on Chiwawa Loop Road, staying right at the intersection. Take the second left onto Chiwawa River Road/Forest Road 6200 and follow it for 14.6 miles to the campground.
