An Air Quality Alert has been issued by the following agencies: Washington Department of Ecology Colville Confederated Tribes Environmental Protection Agency Spokane Regional Clean Air Agency An Air Quality Alert has been issued for Adams, Asotin, Chelan, Douglas, Ferry, Garfield, Grant, Lincoln, Okanogan, Pend Oreille, Spokane, Stevens, and Whitman Counties until further notice due to current and expected smoke from regional fires. Critical fire weather this weekend will produce significant smoke from ongoing and emerging fires. Particulate matter (PM2.5) may reach Very Unhealthy levels for areas directly downwind from active wildfires. Other areas may reach Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups or worse. Intermittent clearing may occur due to windy conditions, but smoke production continues to be significant. When air quality is Unhealthy, everyone should reduce exposure. Limit time outside, avoid strenuous outdoor activity, and follow tips for cleaner indoor air. When air quality is Very Unhealthy, everyone should reduce exposure. Stay inside and filter indoor air to keep it cleaner. Go elsewhere for cleaner air, if needed.

Nineteen Mile Campground is a primitive camping destination tucked along the Chiwawa River in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Located at an elevation of 2,570 feet and 22 miles from Lake Wenatchee, this small campground provides a quiet, riverside setting for campers seeking a remote experience. The campground features 4 single sites available on a first-come, first-served basis only. Each site accommodates a maximum of 2 vehicles, with camping limited to either 2 tents or 1 RV and 1 tent per site. Vault toilets are provided, but campers must bring their own drinking water as potable water is not available. Access requires navigating the Chiwawa River Road, with the final 10-mile section consisting of rough gravel and dirt that may not be suitable for low-clearance vehicles or large RVs. The maximum trailer length is 30 feet. On-site payment is available via QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app.

Directions

From Leavenworth, take US-2 West 15 miles to Coles Corner. Turn right onto WA-207 North and drive 4.3 miles. Turn right on Chiwawa Loop Road for 1.2 miles, then turn left onto Forest Road 6200 and continue 18.6 miles to the campground. The final 10-mile section is rough gravel and dirt.
