About

Myrtle Grove Campground is a hidden riverside gem located along the South Fork of the Coquille River in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. This primitive campground offers five campsites in a shaded myrtlewood grove, providing an ideal escape for campers seeking solitude and natural beauty in southwest Oregon. The campground's riverside location makes it popular for swimming during summer months, with easy access to the gentle waters of the South Fork Coquille River. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire pit, though amenities are deliberately minimal to preserve the primitive character of the area. The surrounding myrtlewood forest and river corridor offer opportunities for wildlife viewing, day hiking, and enjoying the scenic beauty of the coastal mountains. This first-come, first-served campground operates seasonally and requires campers to be self-sufficient. With no drinking water available on-site, visitors must bring their own water supply. The vault toilet provides basic facilities, and garbage service is available during the main camping season from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Located 8 miles south of the small town of Powers via Forest Service Road 33, Myrtle Grove Campground attracts moderate use and provides an authentic wilderness camping experience.
