About

Robinson Creek South Campground is situated along its namesake creek in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, just 9 miles from Bridgeport, California. At an elevation of 7,000 feet, the campground is shaded by a forest of massive Jeffrey pines, with lodgepole pines, sagebrush, and summer wildflowers dotting the landscape. The 25-site campground offers a mix of standard, RV, tent-only, and walk-to sites, all with picnic tables, food storage lockers, and campfire rings with grills. Robinson Creek provides excellent rainbow trout fishing opportunities accessible directly from the campground. The popular Robinson Creek Trail and numerous other hiking trails are in the vicinity, with the rugged Hoover Wilderness Area accessible from the nearby Twin Lakes area. Upper and Lower Twin Lakes offer boating, canoeing, and fishing for Kokanee salmon, rainbow trout, and brown trout. Educational programs are held at the campground's amphitheater on weekends from July 4 through Labor Day. Black bears frequent the area, and all food must be stored in provided lockers.

Directions

Take U.S. Highway 395 through Bridgeport. Turn south on Twin Lakes Road at the Shell gas station. Travel 9.3 miles on Twin Lakes Road. Turn left into the campground.
