About

Robinson Creek South Campground is nestled along Robinson Creek at 7,000 feet elevation in the eastern Sierra Nevada, just 9 miles from Bridgeport, California. The campground sits beneath towering Jeffrey pines with lodgepole pines, sagebrush, and summer wildflowers dotting the surrounding landscape. Each of the 25 campsites includes a picnic table, food storage locker, and campfire ring with grill. The creek offers excellent rainbow trout fishing accessible directly from the campground. The popular Robinson Creek Trail provides hiking opportunities, while Upper and Lower Twin Lakes nearby offer boating, canoeing, and fishing for Kokanee salmon and rainbow and brown trout. The rugged Hoover Wilderness Area can be accessed from the Twin Lakes area for extended backcountry exploration. Black bears frequent this area, so all food must be stored in the provided bear-proof lockers or approved containers. A free California Campfire Permit from CalFire is required for campfires.
