About

Lower Twin Lakes Campground is located 10 miles from Bridgeport, California at an elevation of 7,000 feet in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. Massive Jeffrey pines tower over the 15 campsites, providing partial shade among aspens, sagebrush, and summer wildflowers. Robinson Creek flows adjacent to the campground, offering excellent rainbow trout fishing accessible directly from camp. The campground features a mix of standard nonelectric sites, one RV-designated site, one tent-only site, and three walk-to sites. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring with grill, and food storage locker (required in this bear country). Amenities include flush toilets, potable drinking water, and trash collection. Roads and parking spurs are paved. Firewood is available for purchase from the campground host. Upper and Lower Twin Lakes are within walking distance, featuring beautiful mountain scenery, boating, canoeing, and fishing for Kokanee salmon and rainbow and brown trout. A public boat ramp and beach are half a mile away. The rugged Hoover Wilderness Area can be accessed from Twin Lakes, offering additional hiking and horseback riding trails including the popular Robinson Creek Trail.
