About

Honeymoon Flat Campground is nestled along Robinson Creek in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, approximately 8 miles south of Bridgeport, California. At 7,000 feet elevation, the campground provides easy access to the popular Twin Lakes recreation area and the rugged Hoover Wilderness beyond. The campground is divided into two distinct loops on either side of Twin Lakes Road, each with its own character. The west loop offers partial shade from Jeffrey and lodgepole pines with mostly paved parking spurs. The east loop is more open, dotted with sagebrush, grasses, and summer wildflowers, with gravel roads and parking spurs. All sites include picnic tables, campfire rings with grills, and bear-resistant food storage lockers. Vault toilets and potable water from hand pumps are provided, along with trash collection. Robinson Creek runs through the campground and offers good rainbow trout fishing accessible from both loops. Upper and Lower Twin Lakes nearby provide additional fishing opportunities for Kokanee salmon and rainbow and brown trout, plus boating and canoeing. The Robinson Creek Trail and other hiking routes in the area lead into the scenic Hoover Wilderness for backcountry exploration and horseback riding.
