About
Honeymoon Flat Campground is located 8-10 miles from Bridgeport along Robinson Creek at an elevation of 7,000 feet in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. The campground is divided into two distinct loops on either side of Twin Lakes Road. The west loop is partially shaded by Jeffrey and lodgepole pines with paved parking spurs at most sites, while the east loop is more open with gravel roads and parking spurs, featuring scattered Jeffrey pines, sagebrush, grasses, and summer wildflowers. The campground provides excellent access to Robinson Creek for rainbow trout fishing, and nearby Upper and Lower Twin Lakes offer additional opportunities for boating, canoeing, and fishing for Kokanee salmon, rainbow, and brown trout. The Robinson Creek Trail and other hiking trails are easily accessible from the campground. The rugged Hoover Wilderness Area can be accessed from the Twin Lakes area for extended backcountry hiking and horseback riding adventures. Educational programs are held at the amphitheater at nearby Robinson Creek South Campground on weekends from July 4 through Labor Day.
Directions
From Highway 395 in Bridgeport, turn west on Twin Lakes Road at the Shell gas station and travel approximately 10 miles. The campground is on both sides of Twin Lakes Road.
