About
Riverside Park Campground is nestled along the banks of the South Fork of the Snake River within Caribou-Targhee National Forest, approximately 49 miles east of Idaho Falls near Palisades Reservoir. At 5,600 feet elevation, the campground offers 32 sites: 22 single-family and 10 double-family configurations. Cottonwood trees line the riverbanks, providing partial shade throughout the campground. Gravel roads and parking spurs wind through the area, and an on-site campground host is available during peak season.
The South Fork of the Snake River is renowned for world-class fly-fishing, with abundant rainbow and brook trout. The river also draws tubers, canoeists, kayakers, and rafters. Wildlife sightings are frequent, including deer, moose, and bald eagles. Palisades Reservoir lies just minutes away, offering boat ramps, waterskiing, and additional fishing opportunities. Hundreds of miles of hiking, biking, horseback, and ATV trails crisscross the surrounding forest.

Firewood is available for purchase from the campground host. Phone, gas, and groceries are available three miles away in Irwin. ATVs and OHVs are not permitted within the campground itself.
