Mccoy Creek Campground
Open for the season, operating first-come, first-served. Peak season runs late May through early September at $15/night for single sites. After fall closure, the campground remains accessible for dry camping with no fee, but vault toilets are locked and no host is present.
About
McCoy Creek Campground occupies a scenic location at the south end of Palisades Reservoir, accessed via Forest Road 087 from Highway 26/89. The campground features 17 single-family sites with gravel surfaces, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. Potable water is available via hand pump, and vault toilets are provided during peak season. A primitive boat ramp at the campground allows launching of small watercraft including rafts, kayaks, and canoes, particularly effective at higher water levels. The reservoir and McCoy Creek offer quality fishing for cutthroat trout, brown trout, and kokanee salmon. Firewood may be available for purchase on-site. The campground has very limited shade, so campers should plan accordingly. There is no trash service; all garbage must be packed out. The campground operates first-come, first-served only with no advance reservations available through Recreation.gov.
