About

Falls Campground occupies a scenic location next to the Snake River in beautiful Swan Valley, 45 miles east of Idaho Falls. Situated at an elevation of 5,100 feet, the campground is nestled among cottonwood trees that provide partial shade, with grassy meadows and summer wildflowers dotting the landscape. The campground offers 24 single sites and one group site that can accommodate up to 150 people. Wildlife is abundant in the river bottom, with eagles, osprey, moose, and deer frequently spotted. Fall Creek Falls, a spectacular 60-foot cascade dropping over a travertine outcropping, is less than a quarter mile from the campground and visible from some campsites. The Snake River offers excellent cutthroat trout fishing along with canoeing, floating, rafting, and kayaking opportunities. Conant Boat Ramp is nearby and open to the public. Palisades Reservoir is less than 20 miles away, offering additional opportunities for boating, water skiing, canoeing, fishing, and swimming. The Fall Creek area has numerous trails for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and ATV riding, though ATVs and ORVs are not permitted in the campground itself. The campground was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the late 1930s and is accessed via a 3.5-mile gravel road off Highway 26.
