Blowout Campground & Boat Ramp

Open — Open year-round on a first-come, first-served basis. After fall closure, the campground operates as a dry camping area with no host, no fee, locked bathrooms, and no water available.

About

Blowout Campground is located on Highway 26, approximately 58 miles southeast of Idaho Falls, Idaho, at 5,700 feet elevation. The campground is partially shaded by aspens and tall lodgepole pines and sits on the east shore of Palisades Reservoir. With 11 single units and 4 double units, Blowout is the second largest boating facility on the reservoir, making it excellent for RVs and large boats with trailers. Forested sites are available on top of the hill, while RV sites at the shoreline provide convenient access to the boat ramp. Blowout Boat Ramp is located down the hill from the campground and provides direct access to Palisades Reservoir. Fishing opportunities include Yellowstone cutthroat trout, brown trout, lake trout, and kokanee salmon. Both motorized and non-motorized boating are popular activities on the reservoir. During the operating season, a full-time campground host is on-site and firewood is available for purchase. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations accepted.
