About
Rivers Bend Group Campground is located on Old Mine Road on the New Jersey side of Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, offering a peaceful setting close to Big Flatbrook Creek and the Delaware River. The campground features five primitive group sites in an open grassy field area surrounded by sprawling pines and hardwood trees, with each site accommodating 5-15 people. Each group site is equipped with a fire ring, picnic table, bear-proof trash containers, and food lockers. Vault toilets are centrally located, and potable water is available seasonally. Facilities are ADA accessible. The campground offers dual access: campers can drive in via a compacted gravel entrance road with parking for up to six vehicles per site, or paddle in from the Delaware River via a crushed gravel trail approximately 1/10 mile to the campsites. The location provides excellent access to outdoor recreation including paddling on the Delaware River, hiking nearby sections of the Appalachian Trail, exploring historic Millbrook Village, and accessing swimming beaches along the river. The campground sits within easy reach of Mount Tammany and Mount Minsi hiking trails at the southern end of the recreation area. Firewood collection is permitted from dead and downed wood within 100 yards of the campground, but bringing firewood from outside the park is prohibited due to invasive species concerns.
