About

Worthington State Forest Campground provides a scenic camping experience along the Delaware River in northwestern New Jersey. Located within the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, the campground offers 78 individual campsites spread along two miles of river frontage. Sites 1-23 are designated tent-only, while sites 29-82 accommodate tents, travel trailers, and motorhomes. Three group sites with 35-person capacity and a walk-in backpacker site are also available. Amenities include modern flush toilet facilities, hot showers, and potable drinking water. Each campsite comes equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern holder. Dumpsters and recycling bins are located behind the park office, and firewood is sold during office hours. Group sites include bear-proof food storage lockers but do not have shower access. The forest offers access to over 20 miles of trails including a section of the Appalachian Trail, which crosses through the property. Sunfish Pond, a glacial lake and National Natural Landmark, is a popular hiking destination within the forest. Fishing and paddling opportunities abound on the adjacent Delaware River.
