* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values between 100 and 110 degrees expected each day. * WHERE...In New Jersey, Morris, Sussex, Warren, and Hunterdon Counties. In Pennsylvania, Berks, Lehigh, Northampton, Upper Bucks, Western Chester, and Western Montgomery Counties. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Very warm low temperatures in the low to mid 70s at night will not offer any relief from the heat. This combined with multiple days of near record breaking temperatures will exacerbate the impacts from the heat and humidity. The hottest conditions are expected to occur today through Friday.

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has issued a Code Orange Air Quality Action Day for Ground Level Ozone, until 11 PM EDT Sunday. An Air Quality Advisory means that air quality within the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards. About
Worthington State Forest Campground provides a scenic camping experience along the Delaware River in northwestern New Jersey. Located within the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, the campground offers 78 individual campsites spread along two miles of river frontage. Sites 1-23 are designated tent-only, while sites 29-82 accommodate tents, travel trailers, and motorhomes. Three group sites with 35-person capacity and a walk-in backpacker site are also available. Amenities include modern flush toilet facilities, hot showers, and potable drinking water. Each campsite comes equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern holder. Dumpsters and recycling bins are located behind the park office, and firewood is sold during office hours. Group sites include bear-proof food storage lockers but do not have shower access. The forest offers access to over 20 miles of trails including a section of the Appalachian Trail, which crosses through the property. Sunfish Pond, a glacial lake and National Natural Landmark, is a popular hiking destination within the forest. Fishing and paddling opportunities abound on the adjacent Delaware River.

From I-80, take Exit 1 in New Jersey. Turn left onto Old Mine Road and continue north approximately 2 miles. The campground entrance and park office are located at 2 Old Mine Road, Columbia, NJ 07832.
