About

Mohican Outdoor Center is an Appalachian Mountain Club destination located on Catfish Pond, a glacial lake in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Situated at 1,180 feet elevation in the New Jersey highlands, the center sits adjacent to the Appalachian National Scenic Trail and offers access to waterfalls, scenic overlooks, and wetlands teeming with wildlife. The campground offers several walk-in tent camping options including the Indian Point Campsite with five sites (tent platforms and rustic ground sites), seven additional walk-in sites in the main area, private lakeside campsites, and a group campsite accommodating up to 30 guests. All sites are walk-in only; RVs and tow-behind campers are not accommodated. Facilities include privies, shared hot showers, potable water, bear boxes for food storage, and WiFi. A deli operates May through October serving waffles, sandwiches, and burgers. Canoe and kayak rentals are available seasonally, and complimentary gear rentals include backpacks, trekking poles, and snowshoes. Reservations are made through AMC directly rather than Recreation.gov.
