Air Quality Alert issued July 20 at 3:16PM PDT by NWS Medford OR
Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has issued an Air Pollution Advisory for northern Jackson County...in effect until 2 PM PDT Wednesday. Wildfires burning in the region combined with forecast conditions will cause air quality levels to fluctuate and could be at unhealthy levels. Smoke levels can change rapidly depending on the weather. People at risk include infants and young children, people with heart or lung disease, older adults and pregnant people. People can take the following precautions to protect their health: * Follow local burn restrictions to prevent deteriorating air quality. * Avoid strenuous outdoor activity during periods of poor air quality. * People with heart or lung problems and young children are especially vulnerable. These people should stay indoors while smoke levels are high. * Use certified High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters in indoor heating, ventilation, cooling and air purification systems. About
River Bridge is a small, quiet campground tucked beneath massive Douglas firs in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. The 11 sites offer generous spacing and natural privacy from surrounding vegetation. The Rogue River is within easy walking distance, with several sandy areas ideal for relaxing, swimming, or fishing. This primitive campground provides vault toilets, fire pits, and picnic tables at each site, but campers must bring their own drinking water and pack out all trash. Two sites are designated for OHV users, with the Prospect OHV trail system accessible from the campground. The Upper Rogue River Trail can be accessed directly from the parking area. The campground's location makes it an excellent base for day trips. Crater Lake National Park is only 6 miles away, and the Rogue-Umpqua Scenic Byway with its waterfalls and Rogue Gorge are easily reached.
Directions
From Prospect, OR, travel north about 4 miles on Highway 62. Turn left on Forest Road 6210 and continue about 1 mile to campground.
