Abbott Creek Campground is a remote and picturesque campground located in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, situated in the midst of old-growth forest adjacent to Abbott Creek. The campground features 25 campsites with picnic tables and fire pits, offering both individual and group sites suitable for family and friends gatherings. The setting provides quiet and secluded camping in a beautiful forested environment approximately 3,100 feet in elevation. The campground serves as an excellent base for outdoor recreation. Fishing opportunities abound in Abbott Creek, Woodruff Creek, and the nearby Rogue River. Hikers can access the Upper Rogue River Trail from the nearby Woodruff Bridge Trailhead, and visitors shouldn't miss the nearby attractions of Rogue Gorge and Natural Bridge. For motorized recreation enthusiasts, sites 1-5 allow OHV use, with easy access to the extensive Prospect OHV Trail System. Swimming and picnicking opportunities are available at the Abbott Creek Picnic Site within the campground. Amenities include seven vault toilets, gray water sumps, garbage disposal, and a campground host. Firewood is available for sale. No drinking water is available on-site, though water can be obtained at nearby Union Creek Campground. The campground accommodates RVs and trailers up to 35 feet in length. Access is via Highway 62 north from Prospect, then west on Forest Road 68 for approximately 3.5 miles.

Directions

From Medford, take Highway 62 north towards Prospect. Continue approximately 6.5 miles north of Prospect. Turn left onto Forest Road 68 and continue about 3.5 miles to the campground entrance on the left.
