About
Constructed in 1934 by the Civilian Conservation Corps, Farewell Bend Campground occupies a prime location in old-growth forest along the Upper Rogue River. The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring Crater Lake National Park, located just 18 miles east. All 61 sites feature paved parking pads, picnic tables, and fire rings, with most sites accommodating RVs and trailers up to 40 feet.
The Rogue River flows through the campground, providing immediate access to fishing and swimming. The Upper Rogue River Trail and Rogue Gorge Trail System connect Farewell Bend to Union Creek Campground and Natural Bridge Day Use Area. Notable nearby attractions include Rogue Gorge, where the river has carved over 200 feet into volcanic pumice, and Natural Bridge, where the river disappears underground through a lava tube.
Facilities include four flush toilets with wash basins, potable water, garbage service, a children's play area, and firewood for sale. Union Creek Resort is within a mile for groceries, dining, and lodging. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis during the May through October season.
