Ridley Creek State Park encompasses 2,606 acres of woodlands and meadows in Delaware County, offering a peaceful retreat just 16 miles from center city Philadelphia. The gently rolling terrain is bisected by Ridley Creek and provides an oasis of open space in a growing urban area. Unlike typical campgrounds, Ridley Creek does not offer individual RV or tent campsites. The park provides two organized group tenting sites (Unit A and Unit B) that operate seasonally from April through October. These areas can accommodate up to 50 people each for a combined capacity of 120 campers. A restroom facility with flush toilets is available in the group tenting area, though showers are not provided. The area also includes a playfield for group activities. For visitors seeking family camping accommodations in the Greater Philadelphia region, Pennsylvania State Parks recommends French Creek State Park as an alternative with traditional overnight facilities. Ridley Creek State Park remains an excellent choice for day use activities including hiking, fishing, biking, and picnicking, with the historic Hunting Hill Mansion available for weddings and special events.
