Located in southeastern Montgomery County between Norristown and Collegeville, Evansburg State Park provides organized group camping opportunities in a peaceful natural setting. The group tenting area is situated in a clearing within the forested Oaks Picnic Area and features 18 individual sites, each accommodating up to five people. The campground is designed specifically for qualified adult and youth groups seeking a natural camping experience. The facility includes flush toilets, picnic tables at each site, and fire rings for campfires. While showers are not available, the campground provides a comfortable base for groups exploring the park's six miles of hiking trails, picnic areas, and creek-side natural areas. The park offers significant green space and relative solitude despite its location in an urbanized area. Reservations are required for all group camping and must be made in advance through the Pennsylvania state park reservation system. The campground serves as an ideal location for scout troops, youth organizations, and other organized groups looking for accessible camping near the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
