About

Evansburg State Park sits in southcentral Montgomery County between Norristown and Collegeville, offering 3,349 acres of rolling terrain along Skippack Creek. The park's overnight option is limited to organized group tenting, making it a destination specifically for scout troops, youth organizations, and qualified adult groups rather than individual family campers. The group tenting area occupies a clearing in the forested Oaks Picnic Area with two bookable sites: Site A accommodates up to 40 people and Site B holds up to 45 people. Basic amenities include flush toilets (no showers), fire rings, picnic tables, and potable water. The campground operates seasonally from April through mid-October. Beyond camping, the park features extensive multi-use trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding, along with fishing access on Skippack Creek, open play fields, and a golf course. Hunting is permitted in designated areas during season. Visitors seeking traditional family camping with individual sites should consider French Creek State Park approximately one hour away.
