Reservoir Creek Campground
The campground opens for the season on May 15. No fees or reservations required; all sites are first-come, first-served. Campers must bring their own water and pack out all trash.
About
Reservoir Creek Campground offers a remote, primitive camping experience in the Bitterroot Range of east-central Idaho. Located at the end of Forest Road 275 about 14 miles from Leadore, this small campground has just two designated sites, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. A vault toilet is provided, but campers must bring their own drinking water and pack out all trash. The campground serves as the trailhead for Trail #192, which ascends through the steep and rugged terrain of the Bitterroot Mountains along the Idaho-Montana border. This makes it an ideal base for hikers and backpackers looking to explore the backcountry. The area also offers opportunities for fishing in nearby waters. Given its primitive nature and remote location accessed via forest roads, this campground is best suited for tent campers or those with high-clearance vehicles. There are no fees or reservations; all sites are first-come, first-served.
Directions
From Leadore, go 0.25 mile east on ID 29, 9 miles east on the county road, then 5 miles east on Forest Road 275. Go left to the campground.
