About
Redwood Meadow Campground is nestled at 6,400 feet elevation in the southern portion of Giant Sequoia National Monument within Sequoia National Forest. Located approximately 50 miles east of Springville and 58 miles southeast of Porterville, the campground provides a remote base for exploring ancient sequoia groves. The Long Meadow Giant Sequoia Grove lies directly across the road, and the popular Trail of 100 Giants winds through these towering trees. The campground offers single non-electric tent sites and yurts that sleep up to six people. Each site has a picnic table, and vault toilets are provided. Note that no potable water is available due to a multi-year water system failure; campers must bring an adequate supply. The campground is suitable for small RVs up to 16 feet and operates seasonally from late May through mid-October. As bear country, proper food storage is required. Bear-resistant trash containers are provided. Pets are welcome but must remain leashed at all times. A nearby Sequoia Gift Shop operates during the season. The campground is managed by ExplorUS and reservations are available through Recreation.gov.
