To provide for public safety and protect natural resources, using any type of motorized wheeled vehicle on the National Forest System roads the Exhibit and attached map, except persons using a tracked over-the-snow vehicle when there is a minimum of twelve inches of snow on the road.

Kings River Scenic Byway Dispersed Camping Prohibition 2025

To protect natural resources, camping within 250 feet of the Kings River Scenic Byway (State Highway 180) from its intersection with Tenmile Road (Forest Road No. 13S09) and continuing east approximately 21.1 miles to the Sequoia National Forest boundary. See map.

Kern River Ranger District Glass Container Prohibition

The following act is Prohibited within the Kern River Ranger District of the Sequoia National Forest: Possessing or storing food or beverages in glass containers in the Kern Canyon and Isabella Lake Glass Container Prohibition Areas, as described in Exhibit A, and shown on Exhibits B, C, and D.

North Fork Kern Wild and Scenic River Camping Prohibition

About

Quaking Aspen Cabin was originally built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps and served as housing for Forest Service fire patrol, recreation workers, and other personnel. Today, this historic cabin is available for public rental within Quaking Aspen Campground in the Giant Sequoia National Monument, about an hour from Springville, California. The cabin sleeps six with a bedroom containing a bunk bed and queen bed, plus a futon in the living area. It includes full amenities with an indoor bathroom featuring tub/shower, sink, and toilet, plus a complete kitchen with dishes, cookware, refrigerator, cook stove, water heater, and room heater operated by electricity. The cabin is furnished with couches, tables, and chairs. Outside, there's a BBQ/fire ring and picnic table. Guests need to bring their own bedding, bath towels, and food. Located at 7,000 feet elevation, the cabin provides access to exceptional recreation opportunities. Nearby sequoia groves include the 1,425-acre Freeman Creek Grove with its President George Bush Tree and Bear Creek Grove. The Trail of 100 Giants is 10 miles away, while the Summit Trailhead offers excellent hiking. Activities include horseback riding, mountain biking, rock climbing, fishing in area streams and the Tule River, and hunting. Day trips to Dome Rock and the Needles rock formation are popular. An amphitheater near the cabin hosts Forest Service interpretive programs during summer.

Directions

From Porterville, take Highway 190 east. Continue through Springville for approximately 28 miles to Quaking Aspen Campground. From Bakersfield, take Highway 65 north to Highway 190 east, then continue for approximately 28 miles to the campground. The cabin is located within the campground.
