About
Quaking Aspen Cabin is a charming one-bedroom cabin nestled within the Giant Sequoia National Monument in Sequoia National Forest. Originally constructed in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps, it served as housing for Forest Service fire patrol and recreation workers before being converted to a rental cabin. Located just inside Quaking Aspen Campground at 7,000 feet elevation, the cabin provides comfortable amenities for up to six guests. The cabin offers modern conveniences including electricity, hot and cold running water, and a furnace for chilly mountain evenings. The fully equipped kitchen features a stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and all necessary cookware and utensils. The bathroom has a flush toilet and tub-shower combination. Sleeping accommodations include a queen bed and bunk bed in the bedroom, plus a futon in the living room. Guests must bring their own linens, pillows, blankets, towels, toiletries, and food. The surrounding area offers excellent recreation opportunities including hiking to nearby sequoia groves like Freeman Creek Grove and Bear Creek Grove, the Trail of 100 Giants, and destinations like Dome Rock and the Needles rock formation. Fishing is available in area streams and the Tule River. Be prepared for variable mountain weather including warm afternoons, cool nights, and afternoon thunderstorms.
