About

Belknap Campground occupies a prime location within the Belknap and McIntyre giant sequoia groves in the Western Divide Ranger District of the Giant Sequoia National Monument. At 4,800 feet elevation, the campground provides direct access to some of the most impressive sequoia specimens in the southern Sierra Nevada. A hiking trail begins within the campground and winds through the grove. The 15 single-family tent sites are equipped with picnic tables and BBQ stoves. Vault toilets and potable water are available. Belknap Creek flows through the campground, and the Middle Fork of the Tule River is within walking distance, both offering fishing opportunities with a valid California license. This is bear country, so bear-resistant food storage lockers are provided and proper food storage is required. No trailers or RVs are permitted. Quiet hours are 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Campfire permits are required and can be obtained at the Ranger Station or online.
