About
Juniper Point Campground is located on Lake Texoma in the Cross Timbers region of Texas, operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The campground is split into two sections on either side of Highway 377: Juniper Point East (C1-C31) and Juniper Point West (D1-D13), plus Loop F for tent camping. Together they offer 44 sites with electrical and water hookups and 25 basic sites without hookups. A group picnic shelter with electricity is also available for day use. The campground features comprehensive amenities including flush and vault toilets, showers, drinking water, two dump stations, two boat ramps, and two docks. Sandy beaches are nearby, and general stores and a marina are within one mile. The Cross Timbers hiking trail, a popular 14-mile path that winds above the lake through rocky ledges and blackjack woodland, has its trailhead at the West section of the campground. Lake Texoma is known as the "Striper Capital of the World," being one of the few reservoirs where striped bass reproduce naturally. The lake offers excellent fishing for largemouth and smallmouth bass, white bass, hybrid striped bass, white and black crappie, and channel and blue catfish. Boating, swimming, water skiing, hunting, birding, and beach relaxation are popular activities. The surrounding landscape features post and blackjack oak forests on rolling hills, with abundant wildlife including deer, turkeys, bobcats, hawks, waterfowl, and songbirds.
