The Hilton Area Campground is part of Patapsco Valley State Park, one of Maryland's oldest and most popular parks stretching along 32 miles of the Patapsco River. Located in the Hilton recreation area near Catonsville, this campground provides easy access to outdoor recreation while remaining close to the Baltimore metropolitan area. The campground features 12 tent-only campsites without electricity, each with a fire ring and picnic table. Six single-room mini-cabins offer a step up in comfort with a full-size bed, bunk beds, baseboard heat, electric outlets, and an overhead light (no air conditioning). Four youth group campsites accommodate organized groups of up to 35 people each. The Hilton Area includes a nature center, playground, and trail access. The river is approximately 0.6 miles from the main parking area, providing opportunities for fishing and wading. The broader park offers extensive hiking and mountain biking trails, including portions of the Grist Mill Trail.

From Baltimore, take I-695 to Exit 13 (Frederick Road). Head west on Frederick Road, then turn left onto Hilton Avenue. The Hilton Area entrance is at 1101 Hilton Avenue, Catonsville, MD 21228.
