About

Located on the northwest tip of Harstine Island in Mason County, Jarrell Cove State Park encompasses 43 acres of forested marine camping along 3,500 feet of saltwater shoreline. The park provides a peaceful retreat for both land-based campers and boaters, with 13 campsites that include 10 standard sites, 2 partial hookup sites, and 1 Cascadia Marine Trail site. Most campsites are reservable year-round, though sites 5, 6, 7, and MT22 remain first-come, first-served. The park's protected cove offers excellent moorage with 12 buoys and 650 feet of dock space, making it popular with kayakers and boaters exploring south Puget Sound. Amenities include accessible restrooms with showers, drinking water, fire pits, picnic shelters, and an amphitheater. The park features hiking trails through dense tree stands with views of the placid, opal-colored waters of Pickering Passage. Recreation opportunities abound with swimming, saltwater fishing, scuba diving, paddleboarding, kayaking, and wildlife watching. The park includes volleyball and badminton fields, horseshoe pits, and fire circles for group activities. A private marina operates nearby from Memorial Day through Labor Day, and a pumpout facility is available year-round. The park is accessible by road and bridge despite its island location, accommodating RVs up to 34 feet.
