This will pose a moderate risk of heat-related illness. * WHERE...Middle Chehalis River Valley, Lowlands of Lewis and Southern Thurston Counties, Olympia and Southern Puget Sound, and Willapa and Black Hills. * WHEN...From 11 AM Sunday to 5 AM PDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Heat will significantly increase the risk of heat-related illnesses for those who are sensitive to heat, especially those without effective cooling or adequate hydration. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The warmest daytime high temperatures are expected Monday afternoon and the warmest overnight lows are expected Monday night into Tuesday morning. Areas away from water may see localized areas of major HeatRisk.

Lake Sylvia State Park Campground is nestled in the coastal foothills near Montesano, Washington, offering a peaceful retreat beside a charming 33-acre lake. The park features 41 campsites spread across several categories: 31 standard sites, 4 walk-in sites, 2 hiker/biker sites, 3 partial hookup sites, and a group camp. Each site includes a picnic table, and fire pits are available in designated areas throughout the campground. The lake provides excellent fishing opportunities, with a dedicated fishing bridge where anglers can cast for trout and other species. A network of trails winds around the lake and through the surrounding second-growth forest, offering easy to moderate hiking. The park also features a swimming beach, playground, and seasonal kayak and paddleboard rentals. Modern amenities include flush restrooms, hot showers, and an RV dump station with fresh water. The campground operates year-round, with reservations available April 1 through September 30 via the Washington State Parks reservation system. During the off-season, sites are available first-come, first-served. The park is ADA accessible with designated accessible campsites and playground facilities. Dogs are welcome on leash throughout the park.

Directions

Located 1 mile north of Montesano off US Highway 12. From Montesano, head north on 3rd Street which becomes Lake Sylvia Road and leads directly to the park entrance.
