About
Antelope Island State Park sits on the largest island in the Great Salt Lake, accessible via a seven-mile causeway from Syracuse. The primary camping area is Bridger Bay Campground with 64 sites in two loops. The upper loop (sites 27-64) offers water and electric hookups at $40 per night, while the lower loop provides non-hookup sites at $30 per night. Six ADA-accessible sites are available. Both loops have flush restrooms and hot showers, with additional vault toilets in the lower loop. A dump station with potable water is available. White Rock Bay Campground provides a more primitive experience with 20 sites including equestrian options, accommodating groups up to 16 people. Only pit toilets are available here, though flush toilets and showers at Bridger Bay Beach are two miles away. For backpackers, Ladyfinger Campground offers five hike-in tent sites about 230 feet from parking at $20 per night. Split Rock Bay has four backcountry campsites requiring a five-mile hike. The island is home to free-roaming bison herds, pronghorn antelope, and diverse birdlife. Activities include hiking on over 30 miles of trails, mountain biking, horseback riding, and visiting the historic Fielding Garr Ranch. The Island Buffalo Grill operates seasonally near the marina. A day-use fee of $15 per vehicle applies in addition to camping fees.
