Great Salt Lake State Park campground provides year-round camping opportunities on the shores of the largest body of water between the Great Lakes and the Pacific Ocean. The campground features RV sites with full hookups including water and electricity (AC110, 30amp, and 50amp) that can accommodate rigs up to 40 feet in length. An RV dump station is available for camper convenience. In addition to the RV sites, the park offers primitive beach tent camping sites directly on the beach without hookups or vehicle access, though these sites do have established fire pits. The Great Salt Lake is roughly 13 percent salt content, making it two to seven times saltier than the ocean and the largest salt lake in the western hemisphere. The park serves as a major hub for outdoor recreation including boating, with boat slips and a marina, as well as world-class bird watching as millions of migratory birds stop here along their migration routes. The park also features a visitor center, public viewpoints of the lake, and serves as a search and rescue operations center. Located just 19 miles west of Salt Lake City off Interstate 80 Exit 104, the park is easily accessible for both RV and tent campers. The park itself is open from sunrise to 5:00 pm daily, with the visitor center open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Reservations can be made through Reserve America or by contacting the park directly.

Directions

Head west of Salt Lake City on Interstate 80 for approximately 19 miles, take Exit 104 off I-80 and follow the signs to the park.
