Steinaker State Park sits alongside a picturesque reservoir 6 miles north of Vernal in northeastern Utah's Dinosaur Country. The park features 31 RV campsites offering a variety of hookup options including full hookups with water, sewer, and electric service (20/30/50 amp), electric-only sites, and dry camping sites. The campground is available for reservations from May 15 through September 30, with first-come, first-served camping available during the off-season when water systems are shut off. The reservoir provides consistently good fishing and warm summer water perfect for swimming and waterskiing. The park features a sandy beach, boat launch ramp, fish cleaning stations, modern restrooms with showers, and a dump station. OHV enthusiasts can access popular doubletrack trails including Doc's Beach and Red Mountain directly from the campground entrance road. Winter activities include ice fishing, cross-country skiing, ice skating, and OHV riding on nearby trails. Steinaker State Park makes an ideal base camp for exploring the region's attractions including Dinosaur National Monument, Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, Red Fleet State Park, and the Utah Field House of Natural History State Park. The park is open year-round with camping available in all seasons, though amenities are reduced during winter months when water is shut off.
