About

Emigrant Springs State Heritage Area occupies a forested plateau near the summit of the Blue Mountains, providing a cool refuge for travelers between Pendleton and La Grande. The park preserves a segment of the historic Oregon Trail and offers camping amid towering old-growth conifers. RV campers have access to 16 full hookup sites and one electrical site with water, while tent campers can choose from 32 sites with water nearby. The park also features six rustic log cabins that sleep up to five people and a duplex cabin with two units sleeping three each. Equestrians have a dedicated horse camp north of the day-use area with seven campsites and corrals. A group tent camping area accommodates up to 25 guests. Amenities include hot showers, flush toilets, fire pits, and picnic tables at campsites and cabins. Four RV sites (45, 47, 49, 51) and all cabins remain open year-round with water available at the restroom building during winter months. Tent sites, the electrical site, horse camp, and group area operate seasonally from mid-April through mid-October.
