Robert Moses State Park in the Thousand Islands region provides campers access to some of the best fishing and boating in the Northeast along the St. Lawrence River. The campground is split between the mainland and Barnhart Island, with Barnhart accessible via a tunnel under the Eisenhower Lock (13'6" height clearance). The 207 campsites range from rustic to electric, while 15 cabins offer a more sheltered experience. Facilities include flush restrooms, hot showers, and a dump station. Recreation options abound: a swimming beach, marina with boat launch and rentals, hiking and nature trails, tennis courts, volleyball, basketball, and a playground. The nature center operates year-round. Winter visitors can enjoy cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. Pets are allowed at most campsites (maximum two, leashed, with proof of rabies vaccination) but are prohibited at Barnhart Beach and Cabins 1-7. Reservations are available through ReserveAmerica up to 9 months in advance, with same-day reservations accepted until 3 p.m.
