About

Jacques Cartier State Park is situated on the south bank of the St. Lawrence River just west of Morristown in the scenic Thousand Islands region. The campground features 89 campsites divided into two loops, with numerous waterfront sites offering direct river views. Both electric and non-electric sites are available to accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs. The park's sheltered bay protects a sandy swimming beach and campers dock, making it an ideal destination for water-based recreation. Boating and fishing are the primary attractions, with excellent access to the St. Lawrence River. The park includes a boat launch, seasonal dockage, and a protected marina area. Large open lawns provide space for games and picnics, while a forested picnic area and playground offer additional recreation options. Hiking trails wind through the property, and in winter, cross-country skiing is permitted. Facilities include modern shower and bathroom buildings, a pavilion available for rental, and a campers assistance program. The park operates seasonally with two camping loops that open in mid-May and close between late August and early September. Pets are welcome in campsites and day use areas with restrictions.
